Welcome to Free Electric

thinking about tomorrow, today!

Here at Free Electric, we design, supply and install photo voltaic solar panels. Our systems are use to meet the ever growing demand for clean renewable energy.

With one of our systems installed you will be able to power your home. By using the suns free energy, there are NO Bills, NO quarterly invoice to worry about. Quite simply, you will never have to pay for a single volt of electricity again! Plus any unused electricity produced, can generate an income. (By charging the power companies for the electricity produced.) Having one of our systems installed (with a two way meter) can go from saving you money, to actually earning you money! Due to new government legislation, traditional (fossil fuel based) power suppliers have to produce and supply an ever growing percentage of green, renewable energy. The governments "renewable obligations" which started in April 2002, stipulates that by 2015, 15.9% of all electricity produce must come from renewable sources. With this increasing to 20% by 2020. With finally a target set by the Government's CCC (Climate Change Committee) to 80% by 2050.

How can we do this

and will it work for you?

In Britain alone, it is estimated that there are over 20 million homes and buildings suitable for a PV solar panel system. Generating energy that can be used directly by the occupants or the national grid. With this and falling cost of PV equipment, more and more people are calculating that not only can they substantially reduce the cost of living by stopping or reducing the electric bill, but create an income from their installation. An income that requires little to no maintenance. How does it work? is my house suitable? and how much? There are a lot of common misconceptions about photo voltaic solar panel system. Some people disregard it out of hand with out truly understanding how it works. "we are too far from the equator!" or "it is too expensive the pay back would be too long!" or "the sun is not bright enough", "we a have too many clouds" All these points do have a little truth in them. Yes the optimum place on the plant is the equator, yes when a cloud goes over the sun, the light isn't as intense. But when you know how solar panels work, the actual physics of it all. All these misconceptions, disappear. It all started back in 1839, when a French scientist discovered that when to materials are place in direct sun light an electrical current was generated. Then in America in the 1940's and 50's scientists developed the technology and used it on the vanguard 1, space satellite. Now you can find it all over the world, all over the place. From in wrist watches to pocket calculators to roofs on homes acting as micro power generators to cars and to even power aircraft. It all happens when light energy (photons) hit the panel. These agitate the electrons in the panel and cause them to jump at an atomic level from the p plate to the n plate, it is this flow that we know as current.
